Red Shoe Project

by Veronica on February 27, 2010

Founded by Michael Long, The Red Recruiter, the project aims to prove that helping non-profits can be both fun and beneficial to all concerned. With a deserving cause and some creativity, spreading awareness is much more achievable than in the past. RSP also recognizes that everyone has a different level of contribution that they are either willing or capable of making… and that’s okay! You can get involved by simply submitting a picture!

Why I’m involved: Michael has been a good friend of mine for years and when he originally told me about his plan for The RED SHOE PROJECT, I had to be involved! Michael decided to wear red shoes every day for an entire year to show others that you can help a charity and make a contribution without spending a ton of money or time. By wearing red shoes everyday and talking to other people who just happen to be wearing red shoes, it helps to spread the word about keeping a philanthropic mindset. Over the first year that Michael started this project it spread across the country at a very rapid pace. People now take pictures of themselves in their red shoes and send them in to appear in a monthly video created by Micheal and distributed out through numerous social media channels.
