When I was asked to join the board of Elephant & Worm, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. The first time I saw them preform was at Ravina. The audience was filled with children of all ages accompanied by their parents. There were multiple different stories acted out that were originally written by students in an elementary school.
A group of four actors go to schools and summer camps to teach children how to write stories and turn them into plays. Each play has an educational meaning whether it be, Never Judge A Book By It’s Cover, or Reduce, Reuse & Recycle…there is overflowing education for children.
They also include massive amounts of humor. No matter what age you are, the crowd is filled with constant laughter. Another incredibly creative and unique quality about Elephant & Worm is that they not only bring the children’s stories to stage, but they also bring them to film by creating short movies.
