Parents are the worst when it comes to forwarding emails. Most of the time I don’t even open them. If an email has a ‘FWD’ in the title, and it’s from a family member, most of us don’t read them.
There is no way in hell I’m going to forward this email to 15 people in the next hour. How did we all really start believing that emails have a cosmic control over our lives? And even if it is a good message on a life lesson, I already annoy the crap out of people with my event and charity promotion! So therefore, I usually just hit delete. (sorry Pops)
Today was a different scenario. I’m not sure why….I’m REALLY not sure why. I got an email with the following title: Fw: Miss Joyce in Church
Seriously. There is no way I’d normally open this up. But for some strange reason, I actually did and this is what I saw:
Toward the end of Sunday service, the Minister asked, ‘How many of you have forgiven your enemies?’
80% held up their hands.
The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one small elderly lady.
“Miss Joyce”; ‘Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?’
I don’t have any.’ She replied, smiling sweetly.
‘Miss Joyce”, that is very unusual. How old are you?’
‘Ninety-eight.’ she replied.
‘Oh, Miss. Joyce, would you please come down in front & tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years & not have an enemy in the world?’
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation, and said: ‘I outlived the bitches.’
Lesson learned: Parents don’t always send stupid shit.
Thanks for the giggle Pops.
How does this apply to Career Search? …it doesn’t. It’s Friday people!
